Senior Systems Analyst - Datatel Systems
New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees to approximately 15,000 students through seven academic schools, at campuses in New York, at a number of global sites and campuses, and online. NYIT is a leader in developing creative approaches to the technological and global challenges in higher education today.
NYIT seeks a Senior Systems Analyst for Datatel Systems. Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Systems and Services, the Senior Systems Analyst will design, develop, enhance, and maintain systems and applications, including standard two and three-tier client/server, web-based and ERP applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that applications are available, patched and secured; analyze Datatel-related user needs, determine requirements and implement solutions; ensure that end users are informed of new Datatel functionality and coordinate testing prior to deployment; work closely with end user to develop management reports; assess available development tools and environments and make recommendations for application development.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of related experience required. Master’s degree preferred. The successful candidates must have experience in the following areas: integrated ERP systems, relational databases (Microsoft SQL server and Oracle System) report development; Datatel Colleague system and WebAdvisor; working knowledge of Unidata, Envision, Unibasic, and Uniquery; knowledge of web-specific programming languages (PHP, HTML, XML, JAVA, .NET, ASP, etc.). Prior ERP conversion experience and working knowledge of document imaging systems preferred. Previous experience in a higher education environment is strongly desired.
