Senior Software Test Engineer - Linux/Unix, WebDescription: Senior Software Test Engineer Linux, Unix, Web Application Testing Network Topology, Transaction and Packet AnalyzationThis Consumer and Web Marketing Development team is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer, with a focus on consumer facing production web services, as well as eCommerce-related web and database back-end functionality. This STE will be responsible for reviewing specifications, developing and executing test suites, supported test design documentation, reporting and following bugs through their resolution cycle. This is a fast paced production environment, so the ability to handle multiple projects under tight production deadlines is a must. Duties include short and long-term projects in both e-commerce and web application areas. Ease in technical communication, both verbal and written, is primordial for this position. Requirements: Required Skills for this Senior Software Test Engineer includes the following: 2-4 years testing consumer-facing products in a formal development environment Test Plan development (creation, update, maintenance and review) Test Feature ownership (test plan, test pass, bug regressions and release) Familiar with creating and running the following test passes: BVT, smoke, regression, functional and performance testing Linux and Unix shell experience Experience with testing web applications (HTML / JavaScript) on Windows 9.x, 2000, XP and Mac OS X with a focus on user interface, usability, and end-to-end testing in an integrated environment Experience with web server or client performance methodologies (server and end-user experience) Basic network topology understanding (physical vs. logical network, router, switch and hub) Network transaction and packet analyzation (Ethereal, tcpdump, ssldump and snoop) The understanding of web transaction technologies (DNS, HTTP protocol and load balancing) Client workstation setup and use (Windows OS installation and setup)Bonus Skills: Experience with automated test harnesses including Jmeter, Junit, Winrunner and Loadrunner is preferred Java / J2EE experience preferred Work related experience in ecommerce or Intranet testing in a production environment with multi-tiered applications in a multi-platform environment (Windows, Linux, Oracle and SQL) as well as exploratory testing of database back-end functionality Experience with a content management system preferredSpecial Instructions to begin the process: Please email your resume to Volt at: willow0215@volt.com and it will be expedited to the Recruiter assigned to this position, to readily discuss this job with you!
