It provides our customers, channel partners, and internal staff visibility and control over Akamai’s products and services. Through the Portal our customers get a global picture of how the Akamai system and the Internet are behaving, can fine-tune their web properties, access information about their Internet services and interact with Akamai’s support team. About the Job We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, highly productive Senior Software Engineer to develop test frameworks and tools that would be used by multiple Portal Engineering teams for unit, integration and performance testing. In addition, this person will be the resident quality expert in software development and be responsible for promoting the use of these tools and partnering with QA to maintain high standards. They will continuously add tests as necessary to consume the same frameworks they build to improve these frameworks further while adding more coverage to unit regression test lists. NOTE: This is *NOT* a QA position, but we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer that is focused on building unit, integration and performance test frameworks, quality measurement frameworks, and automation processes useful to improve quality. This person will work with other developers and QA alike for requirements, with the aim of ease of use and high productivity. An ideal candidate will have tools development experience, strong database and web application programming experience, demonstrated problem solving abilities, good teamwork and communication skills and an expert in Linux/Unix command-line tools and scripting. Responsibilities * Develop test frameworks and tools for unit, integration and performance testing. * Work closely with Engineering and QA to ensure high quality standards. * Develop and maintain web applications with HTML GUI and SOAP API interfaces. Manage application transactional state using JDBC/RDBMS. Basic Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent * Overall Experience: 5-7 years or equivalent experience * Experience developing test frameworks and tools to test Java web applications. * Demonstrated experience with industry standard unit testing technologies such as JUnit. * Experience developing web applications with the following technologies: * Java/J2EE including JSP, JSF and JDBC. * Web Services (XML, SOAP, REST). * HTML, Javascript and CSS. * RDBMS (Oracle a plus) including data modeling a plus. * Development experience in Java, Perl and Linux/Unix command-line scripting. * Experience with build dependency scripts like Make and Ant. * Understanding of HTTP, DNS protocols. TCP/IP a plus. * Experience with Perforce RCS a plus. Contact us!
