Sr Software Engineer 08-107 RMS is the world's leading provider of products, services, and expertise for the quantification and management of catastrophe risk. BIDS (Business Intelligence - Decision Support) is a new suite of portfolio management applications on our “next generation” platform. These applications will provide actionable business intelligence to help analysts and managers understand risk, facilitated by best-in-class information visualization, analytics and advanced reporting that differentiate RMS’s applications from competitive solutions. This application is a multi-tiered, multi-layered cutting edge technology that provides real time analytics. You will be part of Business Intelligence and Analytics Team which is primarily focused on the design and development of the core platform and application functionality around BI Tools, ETL and User Interface development. This group is responsible for design of complex Metadata, Reporting Data Warehouse (DW) schema, complex querying techniques to fetch data, complex data transformations, translation into User interface mash-ups and reports & dashboards, etc. This is an opportunity to play a key role in design and development of our next generation application. Advanced development and programming skills, a collaborative work ethic, strong analytical skills and a drive to succeed are the best fit. • Work with engineers, product managers and quality assurance personnel to develop business intelligence solutions including enterprise reporting and visualization capabilities meeting performance, scalability, reliability and functional requirements. • Innovate, architect, design and develop extensible and reliable applications and features, to specification, for the enterprise suite. • Actively participate in requirement gathering, scoping, decision making, and technical implementation. • BS/MS/ in Computer Science and minimum of 6 years experience• Strong C# and ASP.NET programming skills on .NET platform • Strong SQL skills with good understanding of Data warehousing concepts • Experience with MicroStrategy metadata design, reporting, Narrowcast, SDK based development• Capable of working in a fast-paced and iterative product definition and development environment• Strong interest in writing scalable, high performance decision support applications • Integrating third party toolkits and building enterprise products • Track record of getting things done • Ability to think logically and pay close attention to detail• Experience with Dashboard designs, Scorecard style enterprise report development• Effective working relationship with team members and contribution orientationWorking knowledge of ETL, with any solution, like MS SSIS, Informatica, or DataStage, etc. Nice-to-Have Qualifications: • Experience with Sql Server Analysis Services(SSAS), Sql Server Integration Services(SSIS) • Experience with SDK development on Business Intelligence platforms like MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Hyperion, etc • Experience with ADO.NET, JSP, XML and COM • Experience with Flex• Experience with WPF, .NET 3.5/3.0/2.0• Experience with Database appliances as Netezza, etc. Please apply online at www.rms.com or email your resume to rms@agents.icims.com .
