Senior Software Development Manager - Seller Performance Do you have that rare combination of analytical and engineering skills required to manage risk in Amazon.com's World Wide Marketplace? Made up of millions of sellers and accounting for over 25% our unit sales world wide, this key area is looking for a Software Development Manager to drive continued innovation. You’d own defining new solutions to challenges in this area and the team that executes on this vision. The Seller Performance team manages the performance provided by sellers to buyers in order to build a trusted marketplace for all parties. They help good sellers become great and ensure problematic sellers are identified as early as possible. The ideal candidate is a business and tech-savvy, analytical manager with a verifiable track record of managing and delivering robust enterprise projects on time and within budget. Candidates must demonstrate proactive technical leadership, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a proven ability to multi-task and manage effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Software Development Manager will work with technical and non-technical users, including engineers, risk analysts, project managers and operations teams, to design and implement key initiatives focused on improving seller performance. From day one you start with the benefit of an experiences and highly motivated team. We've made big strides in this space over the last few years. But there's a lot still to do. The ideal candidate would be an experienced, technically strong manager who can shift rapidly between roles including; building robust, scalable distributed systems, planning the analytical projects required to quantitatively manage seller performance, and driving business initiatives with multiple stakeholders including our selling and buying communities. Communications skills are critical as this position serves as a business owner and must interact with multiple groups including business development and sales category owners. Requirements: Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or equivalent 5-7+ years of industry experience in a technical capacity (i.e. Software Engineer) Minimum of 3 years experience managing software engineering teamsOther job qualifications include: Strong proficiency in Object Oriented Programming (i.e. Java,C++) Solid working knowledge of distributed computing / service oriented architecture Experience solving quantitative engineering or financial space problems highly desired A desire to have a direct impact on millions upon millions of customers in multiple countries across the world
