We are looking for a highly skilled, energetic individual to join ATG’s Information Systems team. The person in this role serves as the key interface between the Information Systems (IS) organization and the business community for the deployment of business applications and corporate infrastructure. He or she helps the business clarify process flows and system requirements, develops specifications, and manages the delivery of application and infrastructure projects for the business. This person will also be responsible for managing the IS Steering Committee which reviews and sets final project priorities for the company.

The application portfolio at ATG includes:
• Finance and HR – primarily Oracle 11i, with supporting apps like Vertex for tax reporting and ADP payroll.
• Marketing, sales, customer support – combination of systems including a web-based SFA system, web-based ticketing and bug tracking systems, and additional ATG-developed software
• Services and education – time tracking and billing systems for services engagements
• ATG applications – atg.com, using the ATG platform.
• Enterprise collaboration and knowledge management – combination of ATG Knowledge, ATG Self-Service, and third-party collaboration and documentation solutions.
• Reporting and data warehousing – integration between systems, management of a data warehouse, and automated “push” reporting of key information to decision makers around the company
The corporate infrastructure supports:
• Approximately 700 users in multiple global offices and remote locations.
• All of the traditional IT corporate services like WAN, LAN, Storage, Backup, Telephony and Messaging
• Hundreds of servers (virtual and physical) in various locations to support software development efforts.
The current list of active applications projects for 2008 includes:
• Deployment of a configurator within the SFA system to accurately quote all parts of our business
• Development of a financial performance reporting dashboard
• Deployment of a “Web 2.0” externally-facing ATG technical community site
• Expense report automation
On the infrastructure side our active projects include:
• Deployment of a worldwide eDiscovery/email archiving solution
• An upgrade of the external email relays
• An upgrade our messaging system to the current version
• Replacement of the storage infrastructure at our corporate office and our DR site
• Deployment of a single dashboard for infrastructure trend reporting
Key skills:
• Business Analysis: Work with business units to determine what they need from the IS group, help them prioritize that list, and prepare a plan for fulfilling those needs. This includes process development, requirements gathering, and breaking a problem down into its component parts. Requires strong interviewing and listening skills, as well as developing good relations with the business partner units.
• Business Process Development: Help business units understand their processes, and how to take advantage of systems to enable and optimize those processes.
• Project Portfolio Management: Set priorities and balance resource requirements for up to 5 projects simultaneously, and up to 15 per quarter. Break quarterly goals down into discrete phases and ensure that they are completed on time.
• Project Management: Develop and manage the schedules for one or more projects at a time while overseeing the management of three to four more. Mentor other project managers as needed and help them to develop their skills in scheduling, negotiation, team management, and requirements development.
• Technical Analysis: Work with engineers and designers to find the best solution to a problem with the given resources. This requires a solid, architecture-level understanding of both the applications and infrastructure in use.
Requirements:
• At least 8 years of experience in a strategic function and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• A successful history of delivery of software and systems projects
• Suitable technical understanding of several of the following technologies: ATG Platform, Service, and Marketing applications, Salesforce.com, Oracle 11i, eRoom, Confluence, Cognos reporting, Exchange, SQL Server and Oracle databases, object-oriented and scripting programming languages, Networking concepts, Storage Management, Mail transports, Linux and Microsoft operating systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated in requirements documents, project plans, status updates, and management presentations
• Strong “big picture” strategic thinking and approach. Ability to help business users understand their part in an overall strategy for the company
• Ability to negotiate and mediate between competing or conflicting requirements and organizations.
• An energetic, customer-focused approach and can-do attitude.
