Senior Programmer / Analyst Development
NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a rapidly growing, publicly held, top-tier healthcare IT company based in Horsham, PA, provides computer-based practice management and electronic medical records systems to more than 1,500 physician practices across the United States. Ideal for any sized practice, from the multi-provider enterprise to the solo practitioner, NextGen Healthcare's proven suite of applications streamline front- and back office administration and management of all clinical data relating to patient care outcomes.
Independently analyze user specifications and requirements. Encodes, tests, debugs, and documents programs on large-scale, complex projects. Revises and updates programs and documentation as required. Exercise independent judgment to solve challenges inherent in application development. Act as a resource for other programmer/analysts when question arise concerning company products.
• Review and understand customer requirements and specifications.
• Design and develop applications, software solution thatconforms to technical specification and/or customer requirements.
• Test, debug and add enhancements to existing applications.
• Create technical documentation on new design and enhancements.
• Work with Source control system and Defect tracking system.
• Analyze and help resolve software related issues from customer support team and recommend solutions.
Required:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other Engineering disciplines
o A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
o Excellent knowledge of C#, .NET, C++, MFC, SQL.
o Strong programming skills and good understanding ofsoftware development cycle.
o Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Object Oriented Analysis & Design.
o A good understanding of relational database design and writing optimized SQL queries, triggers and stored procedures.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Strong organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
o Ability to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet project deadline.
o Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
o Healthcare experience
o Ability to understand complex details of computer program design.
o Demonstrates a good understanding of quality processes and the ability to produce high quality solutions
o Commercial software experience
o Full software lifecycle development experience
o Strong customer service skills in working with users.
