Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant to join our Professional Services Team. This position will be responsible for consulting with NetScout customers and prospects in the Eastern Region.
In this role, your broad technical and business professional skills are essential as you consult with Netscout customers and prospects to architect and build network management and monitoring solutions for their environments. You will architect, propose and implement designs to meet the customer business and technical needs, consulting with your clients as you go.
As a Professional Services Consultant, you will be expected to position and deliver company-marketed solution sets and other custom consulting services for Netscout customers. You will work with the sales team to present solutions to customers' unique requirements.
Essential Functions:
-Putting your broad Network Management exposure to a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment for Netscout customers
-Scope and write detailed Statements of Work for client engagements that include detailed implementation plans that map to business results
-Working on-site with Netscout customers to configure, install and advise them on the use of Netscout network management and monitoring products
-Contribute to the improvement and enhancement of Netscout consulting best practices
Requirements:
-The ideal candidate will have working experience with the following technology as a consultant within a Professional Services/Consulting organization
-Minimum of 5 years experience as a consultant, equivalent role, or strong desire to move into a consulting career
-Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
-Experience with Windows or Unix as an Administrator
-Corporate enterprise IT/network support with Cisco switches and routers, understanding of packet filtering (firewalls), NAT and PAT, OSPF, Netflow, DNS, DHCP, NIS, SNMP, VOIP, Cisco Wireless and knowledge of common TCP/IP, UDP and ICMP protocols
-Network management software, Windows, UNIX/LINUX capabilities and scripting
-Experience with Network Management tools such as HP OPENview, SMARTS, SolarWinds, Micromuse, NetIQ, Tivoli, Mercury Interactive, CA, BSA, BEA, Network Instruments, Ethereal, or Wild Packets applications
-Strong communication and writing skills
-Ability and desire to travel extensively 70-80%
-Ability to manage customer expectations, and be able to manage and budget your own time
-Previous packet decode experience and direct experience with any portion of our product set, or that of a competitor is preferred
