Senior Java Software Engineer w/ Maven exp.

Primary Responsibilities :Candidate will be a lead development resource in the Turbo Tax SCM Development team. Team is responsible for providing SCM solutions for the Turbo Tax business. Candidate’s primary responsibility will be developing and testing a robust software automated build and test solution for Turbo Tax offerings. This individual will be responsible for working with the Development Operations Architect to understand the SCM architecture and for designing a solution for building the Turbo Tax offerings. H/she will be responsible for implementing a stable, robust and flexible solution to meet the Turbo Tax engineering teams’ needs. H/She will work as a key technical resource in a small, focused team – alongside key business team members, analysts, other technical team members and consultants. This individual will work as a hand-on consultant and partner with the Turbo Tax engineering teams – both guiding them up front in key product design decisions as well as implementing with them, side-by-side, an SCM solution for their product. Key areas of customizations will be in designing and developing extensions to the corporate solution, status reporting as well as integrations to existing Turbo Tax SCM tools.
The candidate should have strong object oriented design and development expertise in a Java environment. H/She should have both a strong hands-on knowledge of build systems as well as solid experience with java application development. Familiarity with Maven2 is required.

 
Qualifications : 3-5 years Java programming experience (J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC) in large scale environment
Experience using Maven2 (developing Maven2 plug-ins is a plus)
Experience with at least one scripting language (Groovy, JRuby, Jython preferred)
Strong knowledge with source control tools (Perforce, CVS, Subversion)
Familiar with Unit/integration testing frameworks (JUnit)
Familiar with application/web servers (JBoss, Weblogic, Apache)
Experience with full lifecycle development process, including long term project deployment experience
Experience using object oriented design and development methodologies
Design patterns a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to mentor junior team members and partner effectively across teams
