Position Title:Senior  Infrastructure Architecture

Position Description:   Note from the Manager:
"I need people who are architects who understand servers and storage. Networking is good, but is not the main focus of this job. The problem with all the other résumé's is that they are network managers and telecommunications heavy, and very little server/storage SME's.
We are NOT looking for systems admins, network admins, telecom experts or Program/Project Managers.) We are looking for an INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT. A background in Enterprise Architecture is plus. " 1. Design infrastructure components required to operate the Ford Computing Environment. 2. Researche, evaluate, and select new hardware, operating systems, systems management, and storage components 3. Work with Systems Engineers to operationalize infrastructure components 4. Work with Network Engineers and Security & Control Engineers to integrate emerging technology 5. Work with Solution Architects and/or project teams to design the infrastructure solution to meet the technical requirements of an application 6. Design infrastructure architecture and supporting processes to accommodate new and emerging capabilities and requirements that integrate with the overall enterprise architecture 7. Provide infrastructure guidance on the most complex and challenging technical projects 8. Provide peer review Enterprise Architecture Assurance(EAA) to all development projects 9. Works with application teams to define, assemble and integrate infrastructure components (examples: hardware requirements for availability, calability and reliability) 10. Provides support such as troubleshooting to application teams when the architecture does not meet requirements (examples: performance, stability and network security) 11. Guide application teams through the architecture review process and ensure compliance with IT Architecture standards 12. Assist also in the introduction of Enterprise Architecture to Ford Motor Company.
Skills Required: 
1. Minimum 2 years experience as practicing Infrastructure Architect in addition to senior level experience in other areas of IT. 2. Broad understanding of server technologies, operating stems, network and storage technologies, and how these relate to the deployment of applications in the Ford Computing Environment. 3. Detailed understanding of Ford Infrastructure Patterns (Transaction, Collaboration, Analytic, and SOA) 4. Broad understanding of vendor offerings in servers, storage, networks, and hosting technlogies 5. Must work well in team environment to build concensus and provide thought leadership 6. Must Have: - Strong leadership and project management skills - Broad technical and architectural acumen with the ability to apply to enterprise scale solutions - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Innovative, creative, and flexible 
Skills Preferred: 
1) Understanding of Enterprise Architecture Concepts. 2) Understanding of Industry ADMs. TOGAF is preferred. 3) Experience is designing and implementing Process.

Education Required: 
BS in Computer Science/related field or other equivalent work experience preferred
