Akamai - Powering a Better Internet. About the Job As Senior Director of Enterprise Applications Engineering, you will lead the team architecting and building these applications. The Enterprise Applications Engineering team will be made up of 40 people, including managers, architects, developers, and business analysts. This position will report directly to the SVP of Engineering. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of combined experience as a developer/architect and manager on mission critical applications. Strong knowledge of commercial software, particularly in the customer management and finance/business intelligence space, will provide a significant advantage. The candidate should have a proven track record in hiring, managing, unifying, optimizing, and setting the vision for a large application development team, and management experience for all stages of the development life cycle. You will be responsible for a wide spectrum of applications supporting all Akamai groups, ranging from custom built applications such as product catalog, invoicing, and developer productivity systems to more standard third-party applications such as CRM (Siebel) and Financial Applications/HRIS (Oracle). Business process and company-wide productivity improvements are key parts of this individual’s charter. You will also have responsibility for the key data models underlying Akamai’s business processes. Basic Qualifications * Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related fields. * Overall Experience: 7-10 years or equivalent experience Desired Qualifications * Excellent written and verbal communications skills * Prior experience hiring and managing distributed teams. * Strong experience with database-backed applications * Strong data modeling experience * Prior experience in a software as a service, enterprise software, or IT services firm. * Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
