Our direct client (Wall Street's number 1 Investment Bank) is looking for a Database Developer (Sybase) with skills with Perl and Java or C.
Position is located in downtown Manhattan, NYC

Team Summary
This position is for an opening in the Bookkeeping team. The team builds and maintains applications that provide the core bookkeeping functions. Some of its primary responsibilities are:
Work on projects to enhance PWM business services and launch new products/markets.
Serve as a sub-ledger (books & records) for PWM accounts.
Consume and process trades from various sources across different asset classes.
Reconcile positions and balances against multiple external custodians to ensure data integrity.
Technologies
Sybase, Perl, C (Widely used)
CGI, Java
Unix, SunOS/Solaris
Autosys is added plus
Exposure to Swing, Relational Databases, Weblogic or JBoss, JEEE is added plus
Experience/Skill
At least 5 yrs of strong experience in the industry using technologies mentioned above
Project management including planning and driving
Translate business and technical requirements into well-engineered business applications
Point of contact for business users and other development teams
Good understanding of the business area and related applications
Maintain the current system and setup - identify/analyze problems and propose solutions
Ability to think strategically and leverage new technologies
Strong ownership and communication skills
Exhibit skills such as line management and/or mentoring
