The WCIRB is undertaking a state-of-the art .NET green field development project to replace all of its legacy systems. The new system will exploit key Microsoft technologies involving architectural strategies, .Net, BizTalk, document management, WCF, Smart Client, web-based tools, Agile, Sharepoint and its other collaborative products and services. Candidate should also be well versed in understanding and coding XML. Experience in WinForm design is a plus. The ideal candidate has a strong background working on web-based systems, experience leading technical projects and teams, strong communication skills and the ability to work in the WCIRB's rapidly evolving team setting. Responsibilities include: all aspects of website design and construction, Internet data transmission applications, and leading edge Microsoft .Net SOA and Web Services. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the strategic identification and platform recommendations to IT management of new or emerging Microsoft technologies and approaches. The Senior Application Software Engineer works regularly with end users, including the WCIRB management team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Responsible for technical project management and deliverables management for the full SDLC as well as team coordination.
- Participate in the evaluation, selection and recommendation of new requirements / analysis and testing developer's tools as a critical part of mission-critical IT/WCIRB initiatives.
- Lead the WCIRB's application development initiatives through Proof of Concept (POC) or Rapid Application Development (RAD) by presenting systems prototypes to ensure that mission-critical efforts have a high probability of success and acceptability to WCIRB users.
- Design and construct using Microsoft development tools.
- Propose and implement change processes or "Best Practices" for greater efficiencies within IT, e.g., production support.
- Develop "white papers" that present Information Technology solution to solving WCIRB business challenges.
