For more information, visit http://www.standardandpoors.com The Sr. Application Developer will be a key player in the analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of applications in the Structured Finance business. This role requires a mature, seasoned technologist who works effectively both independently and self-managed, as well as collaboratively in a team environment. The candidate must be a delivery-focused person with solid web application development experience and leadership skills. Candidate will report directly to the SFIT Senior Director, however, a daily basis will report to the project delivery manager and specialized team lead. S/he will assist with the day-to-day design, code reviews, unit testing, and deployment tasks during the construction of the system. In addition, candidate will work closely with external partner working with S&P in the implementation of the system. Strong application development experience delivering Java/J2EE applications using technologies such as Servlets, JSP, Spring/MVC, Hibernate, Webservices, JMS, POJO's, JDBC, JavaScript, eclipse, HTML etc. Experience in building portal application and using content management tools Experience in weblogic 8 and above and sunone 7 web server Fluency in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL optimization Experience building Web services using SOAP, WSDL, SOA etc. Hands-on experience developing systems using XML, XSL, and XSLT Solid overall knowledge of J2EE and associated API's Strong Object-Oriented Analysis & Design skills with experience of using UML tools, like Rational Rose. (RUP/OO/UML) Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills Must be a strong team player with solid interpersonal skills Must be able to work independently, and be highly motivated At minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Masters degree or advanced degree - a plus. At least 3 - 5 of solid experience developing large, complex web-based technology projects. Big 4 consulting experience - a plus. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Structured finance transactions such as Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO), Asset-backed Securities (ABS) etc. - a plus Structured Finance, fixed income, credit derivatives background - a plus Some securities industry experience - a plus Exposure to Business Intelligence software specially in Business Objects, and BO WEBI SDK Experience with integration tools, such as: ETL, TIBCO/Sonic in a J2EE environment Experience building J2EE-based portfolio management tools Experience designing Web applications using security products like eRights, SiteMinder Experience designing and implementing applications against both relational and dimensional data stores Experience with agile development methodologies, and interactive project management User Interface, Human Factors experience Knowledge of design patterns, best practices Familiarity with Unix, and Sun Solaris Copyright 2008 Standard & Poor's, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies.
