Sales/Retail/Business Development Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Reference Code: PCK314-10921 Sales Specialist, Algorithmic Trading - Dow Jones & Co Job ID: 250202Position Description: The Sales Specialist, Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading, is responsible for managing the complete solutions sales cycle for their initiative, including working with customers, prospects and internal colleagues (such as the Account Team, Product, Marketing and various consulting staff as necessary). From the Target stage through to Contract stage and delivery, the Sales Specialist, Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading is responsible for identifying and presenting appropriate solutions to customers and prospects. The Sales Specialist, Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading, must ensure that proposed solutions are architecturally sound, by working closely with Solution Architects as necessary on integrated solutions.Position Responsibilities:•Identify, qualify, develop and close new business as related to the Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading product line to achieve individual New Contract Revenue and overall Group revenue goals. •Work as a support member for the Direct Sales organization, accelerating Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading sales opportunities through the Dow Jones sales process.•Prospect, target, develop and close business within an assigned region.•Secure references in the form of “Partners in Publicity” agreements from customers.•Identify and analyze underlying customer business and sales issues in order to match the appropriate Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading solution/technology to the customers’ requirements. A solution sales approach is a pre-requisite.•Maintain records of sales visits, appointments, contacts and sales campaigns in the global CRM to provide timely management information.•Educate the sales team in developing and implementing both territory plans and individual strategic account plans to expand Dow Jones’ presence within the algorithmic and quantitative trading marketplace.•Contribute thought leadership around the strategic direction of Dow Jones Solutions for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading, on subjects such as brand, positioning, value proposition and product roadmap.Position Requirements:•Five years plus experience in solution sales or consulting, in the financial services industry with a strong working knowledge of financial markets, preferably in the area of automated electronic trading (Algorithmic Trading). •Experience in selling productivity or effectiveness tools to fund managers, proprietary trading desks, equity desks, statistical arbitrage desks—buy and sell side firms.•Understanding of internet and intranet applications and emerging web technologies and industry trends. Knowledge of APIs / Web Services, communication architecture particularly useful.•Ability to effectively present complex solutions in a customer-facing environment using a communication style appropriate to the audience.•Ability to utilize effective influencing strategies to gain agreement or commitment to proposed solutions in order to help advance the sales process to the next level.•Ability to identify and architect multi-faceted solutions to meet customer needs.•High level of initiative and self motivation, with the ability to work in a team environment.•Ability to drive new business opportunities in “greenfield” sites, as well as ability to upsell to existing Dow Jones customers within a team selling environment.•Ability to identify key customer issues to determine the appropriate solution to satisfy customers’ needs.•Ability to speak knowledgeably about customers’ issues to demonstrate/convey an understanding of same.•Ability to maintain effectiveness when working closely with people of diverse cultures or background.•Ability to effectively handle multiple activities and reprioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals is achieved.•Ability to effectively deal with changing expectations or challenges with clients as well as changes within Dow Jones’ product and service offerings.•Degree level education.•This role requires travel to client sites..Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 25%
