Secure Computing is proud to be the security solutions provider to many of the most mission-critical and sensitive environments in the world.DescriptionAs one of the group's Sales Engineers, you will provide demonstrations on all aspects of our products, assist the sales staff in assessing the potential customer's technical needs, respond to RFPs and prepare detailed product specifications. You will determine systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility at the customer site. You will also coordinate the design of subsystems and integration of the total system.Responsibilities Providing the technical direction and support in the sales process. Defining and implementing system requirements for complex customer systems. Ensuring that strategic design, integration, standards, installation, implementation, testing, performance analysis, debugging, documentation and ongoing support of the range of complex network components is completed during an installation. This includes the network software, front-end processor, gateways to the mainframe/client server, bridges, hubs, routers, transmission medium, transmission protocols, modems, linedrivers, transceivers, controllers, digital service units, deal-up and dial-out facilities, and the network interfaces for the LAN, WAN, SNA and customer data network. Providing consulting, technical guidance and support to customers after installation as well as delivering technical training courses, as needed. Required Skills and Experience. Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics, network computing, information systems or related field/work experience. At least 5 years experience as a sales engineer, in a technical support position and/or increasing complex network support experience. Extensive technical knowledge of a variety of workstation operating systems and hardware platforms, including UNIX, multi-vendor, multi-platform wide area networking, network connectivity, local area networking, demonstrated personnel management skills, and ability to prepare and present project plans.
