CompanyThe Opportunity: Use your sales experience and outstanding communication skills to help position and leverage sales opportunities to acquire, grow, and retain customers within the state and local government sector. Sales associates play an important role in selling ESRI software to current and prospective customers.DepartmentSalesThe Team: Sales at ESRI is more than selling boxes; it is about making a difference. Our sales staff uses their technical experience, domain knowledge, and results-driven focus to sell solutions--not just features and functions--to help our customers solve business problems. We are looking for strategic thinkers and motivated professionals for our 10 U.S. regional offices who can help our customers find a smarter way to do business using our cutting-edge technology. ResponsibilitiesSell our products, services, and solutions to existing accounts and maintain those relationships by telephone, webcast, and videoconferencing.Support account executives on complex, enterprise-wide solutions.Generate incremental revenue through prospecting, cold-calling, up-selling, and cross-selling activities.Identify accounts with high “close� potential by qualifying opportunities and assessing appropriate sales channel required to close opportunities.Participate in the development and execution of account plans.Work with other ESRI departments to create and finalize contracts and sales fulfillment requirements.Fulfill a wide range of requests for information from current and prospective customers.Develop an understanding of company pricing and licensing procedures to prepare standard quotations and proposal information as needed.RequirementsBachelors or masters in GIS or a related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum of one year of business-to-business experience.Knowledge of ESRI products and the different systems platforms.Prior sales and/or marketing experience.Ability to work independently or in a team environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Recommended QualificationsExcellent interpersonal skills.Great follow-through abilities.The Company:Since 1969, ESRI has been giving customers around the world the power to think and plan geographically.
