SR. PROJECT ENGINEER

Overall Responsibility:

Provide customers, contractors, and partners with product and technical post launch field support by telephone, through VPN networks, e-mail, and in person. Heavy customer contact and communication on daily basis. Handles product installations either directly or indirectly by providing guidance to contractors. Also performs field repairs, and trouble-shooting at customer location, primarily North America with international travel possible. Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to lead and support Account Engineers on Projects and customer issues.

Duties:

1. Primary contacts for post launch technical support for assigned sites.
2. Performs site readiness surveys, and provides recommendations to project manager and customer engineering staff in the context of HVAC, Power, and space requirements.
3. Performs software (Service pack and Hot Fixes) and hardware upgrades (memory upgrades and component replacements).
4. Creates system upgrade and/or conversion procedures.
5. Validates procedures on internal lab system prior to field implementation.
6. Provides tier 2 support to hot line personnel for assigned sites.
7. Performs preventive maintenance (PM) for sites assigned.
8. Maintains maintenance and warranty records for assigned sites.
9. Plan, prepare, and organize personnel, parts, and equipment needed for assigned projects.
10. Prepare and submit installation check lists, and service reports.
11. Provides technical support and guidance to all levels of Field Support team.
12. Interfaces between the Field Service and development, Sub Eng, and Quality Control on field technical issues.

Education:

An A.S. degree in Electronics or Industrial Engineering or Electronic Technology is required, and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Bachlers Degree in engineering discipline preferred.

Experience:

1. Working knowledge of Cable TV systems. Ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
2. Proficient use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
3. In depth understanding of Microsoft windows NT/2000 and Linux operating systems.
4. Ability to use various network, RF and MPEG analysis equipment.

2. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with all levels of company and customer personnel. Processes pertinent paperwork, reports, and records.
3. Ability to work under high pressure; constantly changing environment.
