Job Category:IT/Software Development Location:Centennial, CO 80111 Relevant Work Experience:5+ to 7 Years Status:Full Time, Employee Career Level:Experienced (Non-Manager) Salary/Wage:80,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD /year15% bonus Education:Bachelor's Degree This position is with one of our prestigious clients in the DTC. Production Database Administrator  DESCRIPTION:The production Database Administrator is responsible for administration, monitoring and performance tuning of the production SQL environment.  This role is also responsible to monitor and review system clustering and replication, ensuring systems are functioning correctly and making suggestions for improvements.  The production Database Administrator also works closely with the development and data warehouse database administrators to coordinate migration of SQL changes to production.  This role works closely with the database administrator lead to ensure SQL changes are following consistent standards and best practices.  ESSENTIAL SKILLS: · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience · Proven experience and thorough understanding of relational database theory· 5+ years experience with, MS SQL or other relational database experience; 2+ years of production experience preferred but not required.· Prefer Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or other database certifications.· Excellent comprehension (IT technical and/or general) of verbal (English Language) and written (English Language) instructions, processes, procedures and policy· Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and complete projects on time within a fast paced environment.  Effective organizational and time management skills.· “Can doâ€� attitude in approaching challenges with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.· Demonstrated understanding of process, data, and object modeling tools and techniques· Demonstrated ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions  · Excellent oral and written communication skills at both detailed technical, and conceptual levels  · 2+ years experience in High End Database Administration Tools (SQL Server)· 2+ years experience in managing enterprise wide database data sets· Experience installing and configuring MS SQL Server clusters and replicated environments.§ Working knowledge of MS Reporting Services  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Install and deploy databases in the production environment· Create, implement and monitor database backup plans based on the business needs of the company· Create and implement database disaster recovery plans based upon the recovery time objectives of the company· Manage database security· Monitor the performance of the production SQL environment and make recommendations for performance tuning including, file structure and organization, indexing rebuilds and hardware recommendations· Monitor and maintain replication and mirroring of production databases· Manage enterprise data conversions, data migrations, data loads and data modifications· Report to senior management any issues related to the production environment· Manage multiple tasks, projects simultaneously.· Review, proposing and initiating evolution of components of the technical architecture in support of overall data architecture.· Participate in the promotion of applications to the production environment· Post conversion, data maintenance, data feed, implementation support· Finish assigned work orders, projects, tasks, meet deadlines· Prevent corruption or loss of live system data· Learn and become skilled in other environments as required by changes in business direction or IT infrastructure· Communicate with the business community in a professional manner· Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding assigned tasks to appropriate managers and stakeholders· Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department.· Professional attitude and work habits.· To enhance technical expertise through education, project assignments and professional activities. The above information is intended to describe the most important aspects of the job.  It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required to perform the work.
