SOFTWARE MANAGER (MESH)

Job description:

 

Software Manager working with a team of experienced engineers in helping to deliver innovative wireless mesh networking products. Fortress is in the early stages of a successful high growth environment with proven processes and a disciplined approach to product development. The individual will need to adapt to TTM needs while ensuring product quality in a highly dynamic environment.

 

Requirements

BSEE/BSCE/BSCS or equivalent qualification.

Demonstrated experience of delivering a mesh based product (start-to-finish) in totality including

requirement analysis, product development, productization, indoor and outdoor testing and successful field

deployment. 

Experience with managing product development for fixed and mobile wireless networks. Familiarity with

mesh protocols (proactive and reactive) and key concepts such as best path forwarding, resiliency, mobility,

scalability, performance, and security and mesh network management.  

Experience with embedded real-time systems and networking protocols

Previous coding experience developing networking software in C/C++ in an embedded enivroment, Linux and

MIPS experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience in managing and leading engineering teams with varying skill sets. Responsible

and accountable for the software deliverables of a release.  Set major development objectives, track

schedule, set technical direction and day-to-day priorities.

  Ability to manage and interact with remote/geographically distributed teams.

  Ability to manage change well and provide clear vision to the team.

  Quickly ramp up on and apply new technologies and standards. Provide leadership and mentoring to fellow

  engineers.

  Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

    Strong pluses: Good understanding of routing protocols, mesh protocols and mesh test modeling/JIG/test

  fixture. Fixed and mobile wireless products based on Wi-Fi, WiMAX, EVDO and GSM technologies.

  Solutions targeted for Military Data Networks, Sensory Networks, and Public Safety Networks. RF and radio

  experience is another strong plus.
