SDET

Position Description:

RealArcade is the number seller of downloadable casual games is looking for an SDET for the Arcade Core Services team. As part of the rapid growth of the RealArcade division and the new global platform development, we are in need of an SDET for load, performance, stress, test automation development and testing. The SDET is critical for the games team to roll out a solid new platform and keep the games service running smoothly. SDETs responsibilities include development of automation tools for load, performance, stress, and regression testing for the RealArcade website and services. New features and short term projects are released regularly that impacts the core part of the games service that is a major part of the RealArcade income. With the new features being added and short term project release cycle and tight deadlines the demand for test automation becomes a necessity for regression and stabilization. It will also increase efficiency and reliability for each element that is tested, fixed, and verified within that timeframe. The SDET is to work closely with developers, program managers, and others on addressing load, performance, and regression issues. Responsibilities include creating scripts to run and analyze the load and performance of our services, and also to develop test automation tools for services regression. The SDET is also to be responsible for test planning and process improvements. Interpersonal communication skills are critical to success in the role.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Demonstrated experience with load, performance, and stress testing.- Demonstrated experience in test automation development.- Demonstrated experience working with server hardware and test harnesses.- Demonstrated experience with testing web applications on Windows operating systems. - Familiarity with the game industry.- Working knowledge of the E-commerce process.- Demonstrated strong knowledge of testing methodology, with experience writing test plans and test cases, and strong debugging and problem-solving skills.- Proven ability to work in a production environment with recurring release cycles under scheduled deadlines.- Demonstrated ability to work on several simultaneous projects with rapid turn-around times on projects.- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and desire for quality.- Excellent communication skills as a team player in frequent interaction with co-workers during meetings and daily operations - Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter who assumes ownership of responsibility areas. - Excellent English written and verbal skills. - Demonstrated strong working familiarity with PC's, PC software, unix servers, and unix environment. Preferred:- Demonstrated coding and web scripting language skills (c/c++, xml, html, javascript, VBscript/php).- Demonstrated knowledge of/experience with RealNetworks family of products.- Demonstrated experience with Mercury testing software (Quality Center, WinRunner, Quick Test Pro)- Substantial game industry experience.- Demonstrated proficiency in E-commerce testing.Education, Certification, and/or Training::Minimum:- BS in Computer Science or releated discipline.Experience:Minimum:- 2 years experience with C/C++ and web scripting languages.- 2 years of test automation development with at least 2 years in web and ecommerce- 2 years of software testing with at least 2 years in internet testing.- 2 years of load, performance, and stress testing.
