Reverse Engineer
At Macrovision we are bringing together technology, people, and solutions to enable the acceleration of the transition of the traditional media market to an interactive digital experience.
Our startup team in San Francisco is looking for motivated, experienced, and intellectually curious software engineers to develop and implement novel security technologies. The ideal candidate is a C/Unix/Python guru with a BS or MS in Computer Science, experience with low-level, resource-constrained programming, and an eagerness to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment at the cutting edge of computer security.
This candidate would join the BD+ team at Macrovision (www.macrovision.com/company/7822_7837.htm), and help us analyze attacks used to pirate Blu-ray content, develop countermeasures using the innovative BD+ technology, and build the infrastructure necessary to deploy these countermeasures. In addition, the candidate would help us research new applications of the BD+ concepts, as well as develop advanced security and tamper resistance techniques.
We are located next to the Montgomery BART Station and a few blocks from CalTrain.
Responsibilities: Reverse engineer PC-based software Research, develop and implement software security tools and techniques
Requirements: Software security (debugging/disassembly and countermeasures) Reverse engineering Static reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro Dynamic reverse engineering tools such as OllyDbg Code obfuscation Anti-debugger techniques Assembly language (x86 and at least one other processor) Windows kernel or other low-layer operating system concepts
Useful (but not necessary): Fluent in C and the GNU tool chain, including gcc and make Fluent in Python and/or shell-scripting Video compression (MPEG-2 and MPEG-4, watermarking) Java (BD-J and related standards)
