Requirements Analyst (Functional/Systems)
Planned Systems International, a Government Contractor celebrating their 20th year of operations, has an immediate opportunity available for experienced Requirements Analyst (Functional/Systems)to join our team, located in Aurora, CO.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position follows a software development methodology consisting of standardized activities, artifacts, checklists, guidelines, tools and reviews sessions. The analyst must be able to understand the users' goals for the new and existing systems and then define the functional and quality requirements that allow project managers to estimate, developers to design and build, and testers to verify the product. Responsibilities include: Must be able to communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, and Interface designs) Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and dissect high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, to distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using clear and concise language. Write design documents and traceability matrixes. Collaborate with Engineering to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. Enter, maintain, and report on requirements stored in a requirements management tool. Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process. Assist with the development of the organization's requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools. Work with the Project Manager to document a project's scope. Identify ways to assist product management in product planning through requirements development and analysis.
Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree. Strong knowledge of business architecture concepts, particularly in a federal enterprise architecture context. Knowledge of repository and modeling tools preferred. Experience with Case Complete tool is desired. Knowledge of business process modeling standards and practices (BPMN, UML, RUP, etc.) preferred Experience with Languages/Methodologies: Use Case creation, workflow design.
