For more information, visit us as www.covidien/careers.com Covidien’s Respiratory and Monitoring Solutions business unit is looking for software engineers at all levels to help form a new team focused on building the companies next generation ventilation product offerings. Responsibilities include: The Principal software engineer will drive the planning, requirements design, implementation, and testing activities for the Platform layer software, and will be responsible for delivery of assigned development areas within Covidien’s next generation ventilation device. Besides acting as an individual Principal contributor, this role would assume the responsibility of working with the team manager in development of software schedules, and performing resource planning. The Principal software engineer must possess technical flexibility and be capable of independent investigation of new technologies and development environments to meet business needs, and be able to work with the development team to establish best practices. The Principal software engineer must have excellent communication and documentation skills, and actively participates in the requirements and design definition phases of the program. Also, the Principal software engineer must be able to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, and recognize the value of contributions, ideas and opinions of other team members. Additionally, The Principal engineer participates in the mentoring of junior engineer, and actively supports recruiting and team building activities.
