Relevance Engineer - SRSDE02

Position Responsibilities:

 

Perform research and experimentation to analyze the impact of different search relevance algorithms and the quality of search engine results on an e-commerce website.  Develop new and maintain existing C and C++ search engine software for ranking search results and aggregating data from query logs to correct errors.  Adapt software to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance.  Apply information retrieval, data mining, and machine learning techniques to improve information retrieval systems and modify the search engine ranking algorithms to accommodate different business and technical goals, as well as to incorporate new sources of information about relevance.  Design, develop, implement, test, document, and deliver large-scale distributed software components in C and C++ for the search engine.  Provide 24 hour, 7 days a week on-call support for production problems with the relevance software or the deployment of that software on a Linux platform.

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

MS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Search Engine Quality Engineer, Information Retrieval Ranking Developer, or related.  Experience in the job offered or related occupation must involve developing software in C and C++, developing search engine software, and using machine learning and data mining techniques to improve information retrieval systems such as search engines.
