This includes movements to Apple Distribution Centers and Customers covering all channels.Candidate must have extensive knowledge of transportation operations. Expertise includes managing multiple carriers out of multiple nodes for all service levels including ocean, bulk and parcel air. Direct area of Responsibility: Transportation Management • Primary interface for W/W and Regional planning management for exception freight management and urgent supply chain modifications.• Acts as the vendor manager for regional carriers. Helps conduct quarterly business reviews and establishes goals and objectives for both the suppliers as well as the inbound organization.• Drive Cycle Time and other operational improvements for Distribution and Transportation areas.• Develop and manage operational standards, operational procedures and guidelines and coordinates the implementation locally.• Establishes containment actions in response to daily operational matters. Implements escalation process within Apple and carriers in response to operational issues.• Coordinates with suppliers, forwarders and carriers to meet Apple transportation requirements.• Monitor activities of international transportation providers while driving continuous process improvements.• Monitors and reports carrier performance on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.• Prepare monthly carrier performance reports and obtains/develops carrier improvement reports as appropriate.• Analyzes transportation reports/data to identify trends and recommends corrective action• Monitors end of month, end of quarter and end of year requirements Supply Chain Management: • Identify transportation alternates as well as additional transportation providers.• Manage Vendor routing guides for all shipping locations • Analyzes transportation reports/data to identify trends and recommends corrective action4-7 years prior experience in a Logistics environementSAP background a plus Perk #56: New ways to stretch your mind.
