Quality Engineer

Our customers rely on NAVTEQ digital map information for use in their applications based on its accuracy, detail and completeness. Quality Engineer Summary1. Create and present to internal and external audiences the rationale and approach to quality system certification compliance2. Coordinate strategic planning efforts for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO/TS 16949 and potentially other future certifications3. Create detailed plans and timeframes for specific site certifications that account for all affected departments and functions4. Coordinate, implement, track and present progress of each detailed plan, providing status report to Management.5. Assist and at time lead the execution of periodic internal quality system and process audits related to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO/TS 16949 and potentially other standards6. Support organizational alignment between ISO standards and Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and Sarbanes-Oxley.7. Perform activities that support and enhance continual improvement efforts.8. Assist groups throughout the company with process creation, process improvement, process metrics, document management and other goals as defined as quality deliverables.9. Mentor and train other staff on elements of the various ISO standards10. Participate as a training within the Human Resource Quality training program Requirements1. Associates or bachelors degree in fields such as Business, English, Languages, Geography, Computer Science, Engineer, or other related fields, or relevant business experience.2. Experience working with team members, NAVTEQ employees, or outside customers.3. Preferred at least 2 years experience in working with and setting up Management Systems according to the International Standard Organization requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO/TS 169494. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc).5. Familiarity with other quality standards and methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, CMM, SPICE, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc) a plus.6. Knowledge of NAVTEQ internal processes a plus7. Knowledge of other company quality systems a plus Skills:1. Strong statistical background a distinct advantage.2. Flexible problem solving skills with strong team approach.3.
