Primary Objective:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with business and technical staff in planning, executing, and documenting software tests. Work with technical and business resources to understand requirements for each project affecting any component of application. Learn individual components of systems to facilitate the development and execution of comprehensive test plans. Follow and enhance developed testing processes, procedures, or methodologies. Document test cases to meet desired test coverage goals.  Work to minimize risk by identifying, communicating and escalating issues appropriately to management.

 

Accountability/Scope (range of responsibilities):

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the business and technical teams to review requirements, determine testing requirements, developing test plans, developing and executing test cases, and analysis of testing results to assess the quality of custom developed software applications.  This individual will report to the Director of Quality Assurance, but will also be accountable to project managers on different teams as assigned. 

 

Skills Required:

 

· Strong analytical skills

· Strong software testing skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision, but know when to ask the right questions

· Experience developing testing strategies, test plans, test cases

· Strong attention to detail

· Team oriented

· Proficient with MS Office tools

· Strong knowledge of XML

 

Desired Job Experience:

4-8 years professional software testing including development of test plans, reviewing test results, defect management
