Quality Assurance Analyst
WorkForce Software is experiencing year after year growth and rapidly expanding our market presence. Therefore, WorkForce is expanding all teams by adding multiple new positions including a Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst. This position is located in our Livonia, MIHeadquarters.
Workforce Software develops and implements web-based, enterprise application software for workforce management, which includes time & attendance, employee self-service and scheduling. Our system is used by larger organizations and is one of the industry-leading workforce management solutions.
Successful candidates will work on a commercial, off-the-shelf software system for large enterprises. Our web-based time and attendance software is developed using the most advanced browser and application server technologies, making for an exciting development and testing environment. Work is done in multiple environments (Linux, Solaris, and Windows) and on multiple DBMS systems (Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2). Significant on-going investment in R&D keeps the product at the leading edge of time and attendance applications. Our development environment and product functionality expose our developers and QA team members to a variety of tasks not found in other jobs. Some interesting challenges we face everyday include:Supporting multiple platforms where our customers run our application. Our teams are constantly exposed to and work on a variety of web browsers, application servers (Tomcat, WebSphere, etc.), operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, and HP/UX), and database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2). Creating applications that are highly configurable. For example our application supports user defined screens, user-defined calculations, and has built-in scripting to support multiple interface points. Building, tuning, and testing high performance systems that support thousands of concurrent users and millions of transactions per week.
Because of the unique challenges in our environment, we have one of the most talented and skilled software and QA teams around. We also have an extremely knowledgeable technical and executive management team that is involved in product development. Our senior team members and managers maintain high standards and look for highly qualified individuals for our software and QA teams.
Job Functions:
Designing and writing test plans and procedures Executing regression, stress, and other types of automated tests Testing our software in different database, browser and operating system environments Mentoring other software QA team members Designing and building automated tests
Mandatory Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills Must work well as a team member and individually Strong SQL skills Programming experience utilizing any 4GL language and/or stored procedures Detail oriented Four-year or advanced degree in a technical field
Desired Skills: Experience in software QA for commercial, off-the-shelf software Knowledge of XML Familiarity working with third party testing tools (WinRunner and LoadRunner) Experience in designing for and testing under large data volumes and stress conditions Comfortable working with database servers and Unix operating systems Java programming experience
