Quality Assurance Analyst 3.x Desktop

The QA Analyst is responsible for functional testing and specification analysis with regard to client, server and custom-built back office applications.  The candidate is also expected to suggest and execute new ideas to streamline the testing process.

Responsibilities

Functional testing of client, server, and back office applications

Develop a deep understanding of both the business drivers and technical implementation of the trading platform

Providing analysis of business and design requirements, as well as participating in implementation discussions

Ability to adapt testing effort to project needs

Working with automation specialists to help develop and write automated testing scripts

Serve as second or third tier support for production issues

Working with System Testing group to help develop testing scenarios

Active participation in process improvement projects


Skills

Excellent analytical skills

Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in various environments, explore and adopt new workflows

Ability to work within a dynamic testing team and interact with Product, Development and Product Support resources is a must.

Strong sense of ownership and self-sufficiency

Understanding of testing methodology; test case design and planning, test scripting

Defect analysis, reporting and tracking

Understanding of the software product lifecycle

Strong knowledge of at least one enterprise-grade RDBMS: Sybase, MS-SQL, Oracle is required

Experience in different SDLC environments (lean, agile, iterative) is a plus.

Testing UI on different OSs is a plus

Working knowledge of Linux and knowledge of the FIX protocol is a plus

Knowledge of Buy Side Trading community and/or Client Support experience is a plus.

Knowledge of Microsoft office products
