Akamai - Powering a Better Internet. About the Job The Purchasing Associate role is a newly created role in the Purchasing, Travel and Meeting Service group within the Finance Department. The role will provide support to various key area in the department. Responsibilities * Assist with company corporate card program; includes reviewing card applications, canceling accounts, maintaining employee profiles and reporting * Become familiar with Oracle Purchasing module and work with Buyer to ensure accurate coding of Purchase Orders based on internal accounting procedures. Place orders with suppliers as directed. * Assist with travel operations as needed; including: creating/disabling traveler profiles with corporate travel agency online tool * Manage requests for catering for internal meetings with onsite conference center and work with facilities to ensure accurate set-up of conference center space * Provide administrative support for Purchasing, Travel and Meeting Services as needed * Reconcile corporate meeting card monthly * Work with Accounts Payable for exception approvals of expense reports and PO/invoice discrepancies * Manage Akamai's cellular phone program * Assist with Akamai meetings and events when necessary Basic Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's Degree * Overall Experience: 0-2 years or equivalent experience * Knowledge of Oracle 11i a plus * Experience with Microsoft Excel Desired Qualifications * Must be able to multi-task and have excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work in a face paced environment Other Information * Is relocation available for this position: No * Is US Citizenship required: No * Is a Security Clearance Required: No If yes, applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation & must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
