Project Manager, IT

Responsibilities:

 

Lead and manage projects within the framework of BJ’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, while working through impacts of scope, quality, schedule, cost and budget.  Responsibilities include managing the people, tasks and resources for assigned projects within defined tolerances.  Establish, build and maintain project plans that establish actual and forecasted activities and timelines, proactively manage deviations, identify and manage project risks, ensure the project team is properly defined and staffed, and that the appropriate internal and external services are obtained to meet the objectives of the project.  Act as the liaison among the project stakeholders and ensure that timely communications are occurring throughout the project’s lifecycle.  Ensure that projects comply with all SDLC and regulatory requirements.  Provide support to the Program Management Office operation and perform additional tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

At least seven (7) years of experience is required in a systems development environment, including a proven track record of delivering complex projects using varied development approaches for packaged and internal and externally developed applications.  Significant knowledge is essential in project management processes, methods and standards.  Experience is necessary managing a matrix team consisting of associates, contractors and vendors with various skills and disciplines.  Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and tactical execution skills are required, as well as strong knowledge of business decision making processes and ability to participate as a business partner.  Ability is essential to build relationships, influence and negotiate without authority across all levels of IT and business units.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience is required.  PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is desired.
