Programmer/Developer

We are seeking a programmer to work on production systems in both Windows and Linux environments. The programming tasks include development of communications software to bring data in real time into a network control center, as well as software to process the data into a defined format and manage its broadcast over satellites around the world. The software must also interact with other processes that are running in parallel.

 

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and some experience in real time systems. Knowledge of the common communications protocols including network programming and serial communications (RS-232) is required. Also, experience with multi-threaded programming and GUI design and development is essential. Programming proficiency in C/C++ is required, and proficiency in C# is desirable.  Knowledge of database systems is also desirable. The candidate will be expected to work on their own on assigned projects and will be expected to design, program, test and document software packages that are used internally in our process.

 

Knowledge of GPS and Geodesy will also be of value, although it isn’t required.
