Professional Services opportunity

Our client is a leading publicly traded software company with a market cap of over $4B. We have an immediate need to add to our Professional Services team across the country. We hire based on the person, not the location. Significant travel is required for this full time, salaried opportunity. We will train the right people.

 




Our consultants are highly-skilled technology experts with a passion for customer care.  The Consultant understands how to apply our technology efficiently and effectively toward customer requirements.  The Consultant thrives on new and challenging customer needs for higher performance, greater scale, and more secure implementations.  Most importantly, the Consultant measures success based on the speed and skill at which s/he is able to implement our solution that returns measurable value to the customer.

 

Duties/ Responsibilities

 

· Work closely with Sales in pre-sales opportunities which require implementation assistance.

Þ  Provide fast and accurate design/ scope of work based on customer requirements.

Þ  Offer alternative solutions for cost, time, and scope.

Þ  Take on customer challenges of scale, performance, security, etc.

Þ  Maintain focus on customer success and strive to aid customer’s business.

Þ  Serve as hand-off point from Sales Engineers after ‘Proof of Concept’.

· Implement our products in customer environments:

Þ  Modify look and feel of our applications Java, JSP, .net, or related.

Þ  Design database schemas and distribution to best suit customer need.

Þ  Index customer content into our databases.

Þ  Develop custom applications making use of our APIs.

Þ  Manage customer expectations based on need and agreed upon scope.

Þ  Escalate project issues of cost, time, or scope overruns to our management.

Þ  Communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Þ  Work solo and as a team player on projects as necessary.

· Provide valuable product intelligence/ customer feedback to our Product team.

· Educate customers and partners in our technology.

 

While local work is preferred, travel is expected. Travel will preferably be kept at 80% or less, but may reach higher based on demand. We will allow consultant to return home each weekend.

 

Requirements/ Skills

 

· Proven delivery of technical projects with customer references.

· Professional appearance and presentation, both written and spoken.

· Excellent problem-solver with demonstrable solutions-oriented, can-do attitude.

· BS in Computer Science or Engineering, 3.2+ GPA.

· Technical skills:

Þ  Experience working in UNIX. Linux and NT environments.

Þ  4+ years of Java and/or C++.

Þ  2+ years of Perl, Python or similar scripting language.

Þ  2+ years of JSP or ASP.




Experience with Search technology (Autonomy, Endeca, Fast Search and Transfer) beneficial.
