Job Description

The Production Support Analyst will support in-house applications in database mirroring and log shipping. The successful candidate must have a background in 24X7 production on-call support, SQL Server database performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, database security, T-SQL development, stored procedures, and database backup and recovery to work in supporting our software product.

TYPICAL TASKS

•Ensure the smooth operation for the Live/Production systems including batch jobs, applications, servers and other equipment, systems backup, disaster recover, infrastructure planning and network and security management;
•Monitor system processes and batch jobs, analyze problems in production runs to identify problem areas and perform necessary corrective actions;
•Maintains a high level quality of customer service standards in dealing with and responding to requests.
•Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•Knowledgeable in SQL Server 2005, SSIS packages, database mirroring and log shipping;
•MS SQL 2005 in clustered environment;
•MS SQL 2005 on SAN
•T-SQL, stored procedures, and database backup and recovery;
•Windows 2003, Active Directory security with SQL;
•NetApp SAN
•NetApp SnapDrive and SnapShot Manager for SQL;
•Experience with ColdFusion preferred;
•Experience with Backup Exec SQL preferred;
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required;
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
•Independent, self-motivated, pro-active and responsible.
