Product Support Specialist -- Content Integration
OCLC Online Computer Library Center, a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs, currently has an opening for a Part-Time Product Support Specialist-Content Integration in our Boulder division, NetLibrary.
The individual in this position has primary responsibility for fully managing all aspects of the content in his/her pipeline as files progress through the integration process. Primary functions of this position include: Daily turnaround of work required to process the publisher's content Responsible for activities in econtent integrating, updating, and functional testing Identifying and resolving errors and issues that may impede the content's progress through the integration process, and resolving errors as reported by publishers, libraries, Customer Service or any other OCLC staff Providing technical consultation to publishers and/or their vendors proactively if requested by the manager. Serving as the primary contact for all information regarding content status internally and externally for his/her assigned accounts Serving as the focal point for integration with publisher relations and product support specialists Facilitate the acquisition process by serving as the technical contact for integrating content Proactively offer recommendations for improvements of documentation, processes and systems in a manner that meets department goals Forging and maintaining strong, positive, productive relationships with publishers' staff and OCLC development staff. Three years' experience in book/journal/database publishing (electronic, audio, or print) preferred Working knowledge of OeB, PDF, HTML, XML, SGML, and MPG formats, navigating the Internet, Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop General understanding of MARC, FRBR and other library classifications systems and specifications Working knowledge of HTMS, Style Sheets, Adobe Acrobat, PhotoShop, QuarkXpress and/or font management software is required Strong multi-tasking abilities, with a detail orientation Ability to manage high volumes of work as well as repetitive work while maintaining accuracy and efficiency Strong verbal and written communication skills essential as this is a customer-centric, relationship-orientated role Ability to troubleshoot and work with the team to create solutions that benefit all.
