Product Specialist

Scope of Position:


• Provides first level support for Open Text eDOCS DM products via telephone to customers.
• Resolves technical support problems for customers, field employees, and fee-for-service consultants.
• Possesses knowledge of third-party software applications and Open Text eDOCS DM products.


Key Responsibilities:


Responsibilities as stated above as well as the following:
• Troubleshooting of customer issue.


Knowledge, Education and Experience:


Education:
• University or Technical College degree in MIS/CSIS or related curriculum, or 3-5 years’ experience in the computer industry.


Experience:
• Three to five years of computer network and database experience or at least one year experience supporting Open Text eDOCS DM products.


Skills and Attributes:


• Customer support experience in a technical support environment.
• Excellent phone and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and organizational skills required.
• Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL programming.
• Knowledge of network administration to include experience with one or more of the following: NetWare, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory.
• Knowledge of programming tools including (not limited to) one or more of the following; C++, Visual Basic, JavaScript, ASP, ActiveX.
• Experience in the use and configuration of web HTTP servers (IIS, Sun, Apache).
• Knowledge in PC fundamentals, including memory management and network/database client installation and configuration.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and function in a high stress environment with minimal supervision.
• Previous document management experience is an asset.
