Product Manager - Partner Management
Product Management leads the Varolii organization to choose, define, release and maintain offerings that meet company and customer goals. Using proven analysis and planning methods, Product Management ensures that Varolii offerings:
1) meet the needs of current and targeted customers,
2) realize corporate revenue and profit objectives,
3) deliver sustainable competitive advantage, and
4) via the product lifecycle process, manage investment costs during new and enhancement cycles.
The Product Manager will have direct ownership of new and existing products and ensure the alignment of their products across company vision, goals and timeframes. The successful candidate will have demonstrated:
1) End-to-end ownership of the product lifecycle for multiple products simultaneously, each at different phases of the life cycle.
2) Assist in identifying new vendor/partner relationships that will add strategic value to product/solution offerings.
3) Manage ongoing partner relationships to ensure maximum mutual benefit.
4) Personally lead cross-functional teams which may include all or any of Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Customer Management, Professional Services, and Operations.
5) Identified risks and developed alternatives to overcome changes in planned resources, including successful escalation to senior management.
6) Year-to-year higher profitability and average sales value.
7) Executive-level approved pricing with detailed cost models and CapEx plans.
8) Vendor selection and personal involvement in successful contract negations tightly supported by Legal.
9) Relationships with key customers and industry analysts that obtained product requirements and help with the initial roll-out of his/her products.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Document, develop and refine business requirements.
· Manage product/services definition, roadmap, and release timelines. Responsible for all launch planning and execution to ensure smooth ramp to full production and set up of all required operational and support processes.
· Manage partner relationships, negotiate partnership terms, identify areas of improvement for overall partnership processes and planning.
· Build product business case analysis including; market opportunity, sales projections, cost analysis, etc. Create business plan and justifications. Make business costs assessments for respective opportunities.
· Manage and approve the general availability roll-out of releases Develop and manage content of materials to be launched to market. Collaborate on marketing objectives and strategies; develop positioning and messaging, sales training and internal and external communications.Conduct market research on competitive offerings and market direction. Provide subject matter expertise, analysis and direction assessments as required.Support the sales efforts with product domain knowledge, sales strategy, and product/services roadmap details.Manage Partner Relationships. Research and identify potential partners required to fill functional or sales gaps. As needed, manage relationship with selected partners. Promote, coordinate and drive (when appropriate) co-marketing/partnering opportunities with major partners as well as act as a product line champion both within and outside with press, analysts, partners and key customers.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
5+ years of product management experience in enterprise application space ideally in Call Center Software (outbound and/or inbound), telephony, messaging, Analytics, or Business Process Management. Solid understanding of product lifecycle management including: Identifying customer requirements based on actual customer interaction, and translating these requirements into product features, prioritizing features into releases based on market realities, and developing offering roadmaps and migration strategies. Proven partner management and negotiation skills.Strong business management, analysis, and communication skills. Proven success in building and maintaining valuable customer relationships.Ability to build business cases and assist in pricing of offerings.Ability to solve complex issues to achieve objectives and deliver results on multiple projects in a complex, fast-moving environment.
