Product Manager 278

The Product Manager is an integral participant in the development, implementation, and support processes of NewRiver’s suite of compliance data products.  The position requires cross-functional teamwork with our Sales, Services, Operations, Technology, Marketing, and Products groups.  The successful candidate will have at least four years of experience within financial services operations or for a data provider servicing the financial services industry.  This is a growth role ideal for an individual with a professional can-do attitude and the ability to think creatively in the context of ambiguity, who is looking to transition into a dynamic organization.

 

Essential Duties/Tasks:

 

§ Provide internal leadership to enhance the competitive position of NewRiver's compliance data products 

§ Effectively gather and document client business requirements

§ Create detail functional specifications based on client business requirements

§ Develop and maintain release documentation and conduct training for the sales and services teams on new features

§ Facilitate the product release process including the management of an installed base of compliance data product clients

§ Serve as the point of contact for the Sales and Services teams, responding to inquires and supporting client interactions

§ Develop sales support tools such as pricing models, competitive analyses, and sales collateral

§ Collect and maintain an ongoing list of emerging client needs and requirements



 

Knowledge of Industry, Product &Technology:

 

§ Work experience in the financial services sector including insurance, brokerages, mutual funds, or annuity insurance

§ Knowledge of mutual fund or variable annuity transaction processing

§ Exposure to compliance filings in a financial services environment

§ Broad knowledge of Web-based applications and database technologies

§ Comfortable dealing with the detail/complexity of SEC mutual fund filings

§ Must be very familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

 

Education & Other Qualifications:

 

§ Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline, MBA strongly preferred

§ Four years experience in the financial services operations; with four to six years of relevant product management work experience preferred

§ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

§ Proven team leadership, project management, and group facilitation skills

§ Detail-oriented with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills

§ Capable of understanding and communicating the benefits of complex data solutions to an audience by phone or in person

§ Must have strong professional can-do attitude and can build relationships with stakeholders both horizontally and vertically across the organization
