In a company with significant growth opportunities, you will be an integral part of a team creating a complete solution for the embedded market using Linux as a development host and target platform.The Product Line Manager for Wind River Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) will focus on building our Linux RTOS strategy and product plan for the MID market - currently a fast growing and exciting market for Mobile Linux. The product manager will own the complete product lifecycle and deliverables including strategy, business plan, product requirements, product planning, positioning, pricing, sales enablement and partner ecosystem development.Responsibilities:· Create MID market requirements with the Mobile GM and work with engineering on execution of the roadmap.· Grow Wind River’s Linux platform in the MID space through Go-to-market activities.· Understand embedded Linux handheld requirements and market characteristics, and translate this understanding into strategies, roadmaps, and product requirements for the MID industry.· Co-develop business cases, Market Requirements Documents (MRD) and deliver and own Product Requirement Documents (PRD).· Own positioning, pricing strategies, and competitive activities related to MID Linux platforms.· Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to deliver required products.· Collaborate with partners to assemble appropriate value-added products and services.· Support activities for corporate marketing and sales.Requirements: - 7 years in product management or product marketing, preferably in the PDA or mobile handset software space. Significant experience with delivering mobile phones and devices a plus.- Deep understanding of operating systems, application software, and tools used by the mobile handheld OEMs in all stages of products. - Knowledge of open source business models critical.- 3+ years experience with Linux technologies, products, and open source desirable including 1. Knowledge of industry standard open source Linux platforms such as Moblin or Android. 2. Strong knowledge of the market ecosystem including semiconductor partners and ISVs supporting the Linux market 3.
