Process Engineer

Job Description:
Apex Systems, currently has multiple Process Engineer opportunities available for individuals who are team and detail oriented,  and have strong leadership skills and work ethic to work in the Walkersville, MD area. This opportunity is with one of the world's leading suppliers to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life sciences industries working within the Powder Media Operations team. 

 

The Process Engineer overall responsibilities will be to ensure that processes and projects are running efficiently and that deliverables are met on time, by monitoring process metrics and SPC activities and providing engineering solutions.

The Process Engineer’s primary responsibilities include: Create, maintain and communicate process metrics which includes definition and implementation of projects for process improvements. Develop specifications and justify projects in support of Powder Media Operations activities. Schedule, facilitate and supervise projects. Investigate process deviations and create and implement corrective action plans. Champion Lean 6 Sigma investigations and projects within the Powder Media Operations laboratory. Utilize technology (automated systems) to develop and incorporate evolutionary and revolutionary innovations and designs and technologies which lead to increased quality and/or cost reductions through optimization of people, processes, raw materials and capital assets. Engineer safety into all Powder Media Operations processes. Complete/coordinate the completion of all cGMP documentation and project reports. Support existing operations by troubleshooting equipment and systems, and by offering to provide engineering support to maintenance activities. Interact routinely with members of the Validation and Quality Assurance departments to ensure that all validation and monitoring requirements are met. Support powder media operations across multiple production shifts.
 

 

Job Requirements:

Candidates for this position must have 5+ years experience, Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering degree preferred), experience in a cGMP/pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, Lean 6 Sigma experience in process mapping and cost accounting, experience with Microsoft Office, database management, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
