Planning Analyst

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:


The Planning Analyst will help manage the Field Services inventory. The position will utilize ‘Prophet’ by Baxter planning tool, PeopleSoft, and Excel to optimize inventory and ensure that the established service levels are maintained. Emphasis will be placed on support parts forecasting, properly planning inventory delivery, and the elimination of support parts stock outages while working within budgeted cost considerations. Additional responsibilities include managing final buys for on going support and managing EOL/excess inventory.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimize obsolescence by anticipating and reacting to product model change or client change. Establish and make recommendations to maintain minimum bin levels for on hand support materials. Initiates and expedites PO’s to ensure timely delivery of parts to meet customers’ expectations. Help reconcile quarterly inventory. Work with the inventory analyst on weekly cycle counts to make recommendations for corrective action. Maintain and improve the department forecast to keep purchasing within quarterly estimates. Use sales and install base information as a tool to improve the accuracy of the forecast. Identify and disposition obsolete inventory. Provide overall statistical inventory analysis for successful inventory management. Other job related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Excellent oral and written communication skills. ERP and MRP experience. Working knowledge of People Soft and ‘prophet’ by Baxter. Above average Excel and Word skills. Excellent accuracy and data entry skills. Strong analytical and statistical skills. Strong process mapping, conceptual abilities and problem solving capabilities. Ability to meet deadlines and multitask along with aggressive management skills are essential. Passion to drive continuous improvements. Experience: 3 – 5 yrs Analytical and detail driven. Statistical analysis. Currently complex tracking of inventory purchase and stocking levels. Help implement upgrade of system of record (PeopleSoft 9.0)

 SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:Participation on cross-functional process improvement teams. Back-filling for short-term staffing gaps. Able to communicate cross functionally in order to gather needed data for proper parts planning. Maintain data for department reserve analysis and update quarterly. Maintain current BOM information for service parts used in the department. Maintain part numbers used in the department. Update vendor material forecasts and provide information to key internal clients on a daily and/or weekly basis. Participate in physical inventories.
