PROGRAMMER/ANALYST

SUMMARY:  Responsible for designing, developing and supporting applications and reports.  This position reports to the Manager of IT BackOffice Systems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Responsible for gathering requirements, analysis, application design, programming, and documentation of client/server applications and reports in a network environment.

 

Responsible for problem investigation, debugging, trouble-shooting, testing and support of developed software.

 

Responsible for developing cost and time estimates of service requests.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  A successful candidate in this position must have a minimum of 3 years of programming experience in Visual Basic.  Strong SQL knowledge is required.  Previous Web/GUI interface development in a Windows environment is preferred.  Previous Microsoft SQL, MS Access, MS Office, ODBC and Crystal Reports experience is a plus.

 

Strong technical, analytical and problem resolution skills are required.  A successful candidate must have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.  Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.  This position interfaces with all departments, other IT staff and outside vendors.  Must have experience working directly with customers in understanding business needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
