Job Description Oracle Warehouse DBA We're looking for an Oracle Warehouse DBA, on behalf of our client, Wireless Generation.  Wireless Generation pioneered the adaptation of mobile technologies, including handheld computers and digital pens, for use in managing and improving teaching and learning in grades pre-K-12. More information is available on the Web at www.wirelessgeneration.com. Summary Experienced Oracle 10g Warehouse DBA to help develop and support its warehouse instances. This experienced team player is needed to implement and maintain terabyte sized warehouses. The ideal candidate will have prior experience to maintaining a large warehouse and must conceptually grasp/appreciate the difference between DSS and OLTP systems (necessary for the in-depth technical interview). This position requires supporting the environment twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Candidates must be able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable with fast-paced development cycles.  Requirements for Oracle Warehouse DBA Minimum 5+ years of experience with a BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred Mandatory - Excellent knowledge of star schemas, partitioning, and bitmap indexes Mandatory – Experience on Oracle 10g Excellent knowledge of ETL techniques/tools Proficient in all aspects of Oracle administration unique to maintaining large warehouse instances Proficient in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Proficient in UNIX shell scripting, command-line tools Experience with supporting databases for ETL, DSS/reporting applications Oracle certification a plus Published articles/papers/books a plus Be prepared for a rigorous technical interview Contact: Neil.Duggan@veritude.com   Veritude is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and supports a diversified environment.
