The Position

 

As the Manager of Database Management, you will have the management responsibility for the team that maintains and develops relational databases including both Decision Support System  and On-line Transactional Processing databases. Installs, configures and upgrades database software on various platforms. Responsible for providing and insuring data availability, data integrity and data security. Performs routing database administration functions including capacity planning, pro-active performance monitoring and tuning, executing security procedures, backup and recovery processes. Routinely uses latest and most effective, cost efficient and best technology practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.  Supports activities and acts as a part and resource to various application development teams in the development, QA and launch of new products or features. Efficiently works with the server administrators, application administrators, vendors and consultants groups.

 

Requirements

 

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information

Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS) and/or equivalent technical degree plus 5+ years of relevant database administration and design experience. Knowledge and hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of Oracle 9i and 10g; expert knowledge and comprehensive application of advanced Microsoft SQL Server concepts, practices and applications; Comprehensive knowledge of database modeling and database administration tools, expertise and advanced knowledge of RMAN, Data Guard, Oracle10g. RAC maintenance experience desired.  Oracle certification desired.  SAP experience is a plus.
