Operations Engineer
Do you want to work on some of the most challenging and exciting tools at Microsoft? Do you like working with customers and partnering with other engineers to solve complex problems? The Application Service Management (ASM) organization is currently looking for a dynamic individual to provide Problem Management and Level 3 Incident Management for our business-critical products which keep the Microsoft Sales force and its partners driving revenue and growth. This role is responsible for keeping our systems running at their peak level of performance and availability, while ensuring our customer satisfaction and quality of service are world-class. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with other incident management Teams, other problem management Teams, product managers, and the other operations Teams within ASM and other MOF quadrants. This role involves a high level of complexity in troubleshooting issues and deep knowledge of SQL and integration technologies are required. Core Job Responsibilities:· Provide technical expertise as a team member and individual contributor in the operational support of the ASM RXD enterprise environments.· Responsible for ensuring escalated support and operational issues are resolved in a timely manner, tracked according to standards and escalated to other groups as appropriate.· Act as key technical consultant to product management, release management, and the project team by driving operational requirements, architecture, and problem management of customer impacting issues.· Drive world-class availability and performance for our enterprise systems and their customers.· Demonstrate Microsoft products throughout the enterprise by dog-fooding, leveraging our newest as-yet-unreleased products.· Partner with team members to produce support documentation for future versions of the RXD Products. This includes Online Help, website, and KB articles.· Diagnose repeatable problems and determine root cause.· Provide technical analysis and write ups for issues that need to be escalated to Dev and Test Teams. Ensure these bugs are addressed appropriately. Requirements/Qualifications:· BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.· 7-8 years demonstrated experience supporting enterprise products in mission critical environments.· MOF/ITIL training & experience preferred.· Proven track record in high level incident management and problem management.· Must be able to work effectively as an individual contributor and as a team member.· Extended coverage outside of normal work hours may be required from time to time.· Prefer Strong knowledge of Microsoft’s core platform components (Windows Server, SQL, & .NET suite of tools)strong knowledge of Microsoft technology and solutions Microsoft offers an excellent benefits package to full-time employees including medical, dental, vacation, employee stock purchase plan, and 401k, plus some great extras including: our 24-hour nurse line, stay fit program, product discounts, and paid infant care leave.
