Reporting to the Jacksonville, FL IT Operations Manager, the Network Engineer is responsible for managing the company's corporate network (LAN/WAN), VoIP phone system and IP videoconferencing infrastructure; SAN storage systems and corporate data backup infrastructure.  The Network Engineer manages and operates network and storage resources so as to optimize their availability, dependability and performance, while controlling costs; and performs all tasks necessary to keep Taleo's corporate network operational and secure.Main areas of responsibility include:

 

Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), VoIP phone system infrastructure, IP Videoconferencing infrastructure.

Install and test systems/network hardware and software.

Integrate LAN/WAN with VoIP, VC and other information systems.

Serve as troubleshooter for local and wide area network, voice and video network problems to find root cause.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data, software, and hardware configuration, as well as security and emergency procedures for networking and enterprise storage.

Maintain contact with end users to maximize network/systems utilization.

Responsible for on-going assessment and upgrading of network and telecommunications systems. Research and evaluate hardware and software for systems.

Maintain the LAN/ WAN environment including firewalls, SSL VPN and WAN optimizer equipment; support and optimize LAN/WAN through packet level analysis

Provide network monitoring trend analysis for predictive failure and problem analysis

Analysis of network SAN storage requirements, design and implement infrastructure, and assist in developing strategy for future growth

Implement, support and maintain information security requirements; perform system maintenance including security patches, operating system upgrades and hardware upgrades

Create, support, & configure switching protocols, backups for all environments, VPN tunnels, configure and maintain FTP and SFTP servers.

Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations for Corporate projects.

Participate in On call Rotation (24x7)



 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelors' Degree in Information Systems, or commensurate experience

At least 5 years of relevant experience in Network Engineering

Expert knowledge of Cisco and Juniper networking equipment (certifications a plus)

Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and networking best practices

Knowledge of Cisco VOIP and Tandberg enterprise videoconferencing equipment a plus

Knowledge of SAN storage system concepts, particularly HDS SAN storage arrays

Previous responsibility providing customer support

Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
