POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION:   Network Administrator                           REPORTS TO:  Director of Technology
DIRECT REPORTS:   Information Services                             STATUS:   Employee
RESPONSIBILITY: To administrate, maintain, enhance, ensure reliability, scalability, and security of the corporate network consisting of 2 main offices and 3 satellite offices, as well as provide end-user desktop support.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Responsible for ongoing maintenance, design, configuration, integration, security, and backups/disaster recovery of the ImageTree network.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain Windows 2003 Domain Maintain Exchange 2003/2007 Maintain SQLServer 2005 Maintain IBM Enterprise SAN Perform backups Maintain and support user desktops Maintain Cisco infrastructure, 3600 series routers and 515 PIX Ensure licensing compliance, software updates and upgrades
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including LAN, WAN, and VPN technology. Cisco IOS, COS QoS: design, implementation, management Firewall/NAT technologies and design (PIX based), network security, auditing, monitoring of said firewall/NAT. Windows 2003 domain administration: active directory, group policy, WSUS, security, patching, etc. Desktop administration: Windows XP Pro and Vista Business Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 administration and spam management IIS Administration RIM Blackberry Enterprise Server administration Microsoft SQLServer 2005 administration Backups: experience with modern network-based backup systems and tape libraries SAN and NAS technologies NOC systems: SNMP management, MRTG, Ethernet analysis, etc. Telecoms and PBX management Knowledge of Unix platforms: Linux, Solaris, *BSD, associated common software (apache, X11, etc) Knowledge of common protocols and applications: DHCP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, SSH; Office, IE, Acrobat, etc. Knowledge of VOIP a plus. Knowledge of GIS and mapping related technology and applications a plus. Ability to crimp CAT-5 and perform 110 and 66 punch required. Ability to work closely and troubleshoot desktop end-users, both local and remote Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in networking, computer science or equivalent. 4 years experience in network administration Certifications a plus References from previous employers Experience managing technical support engineers and junior network administrators required
