.Net Developer - New York

Description:The Kaplan K12 Technology team is seeking a versatile software developer to work in our New York office. You will need to be a very quick learner and a quick performer. You should be excited to dive into existing code as well as developing new ones. You will be involved in mostly short projects aimed at solving urgent technology and business issues. You will also be working on some new technologies in .NET arena. Responsibilities: - Design and build the front-end ASP.NET web-based applications. - Deploy defect fixes and new features and perform Unit testing. - Conduct regular system deployments to QA and Production. - Improve documentation of processes and systems. - Troubleshoot existing ASP.NET 1.1 web applications. - Execute any other tasks deemed necessary. Requirements: - Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical degree. - Development experience with Visual Studio and C# (.NET Framework). Includes Visual Studio 2005, .NET Framework 3.0. - Understanding of relational databases and SQL. MS SQL Server experience. - Excellent oral and written technical communication skills. - Ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical client personnel. - Ability to work with business users to discuss and gather requirements. - Acute attention to detail and reliable problem-solving ability. - Ability to work independently without constant supervision. - Ability to work under pressure. - Flexibility and an open-minded approach to problem-solving. Pluses: - Previous experience in education industry is a plus. - Working with Microsoft Software Factories. - ASP.NET 2.0, .Net 3.0 and .Net 3.5. - AJAX experience is a plus.
