NETWORK PRODUCT AND M&P SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Job Summary: This position is responsible for a wide variety of central office, transport, and outside plant network equipment, as well as for products that provide data and video. Support OSS functionality, application, and end-to-end service delivery solutions (from Order to Invoice); covering TMN 4-layer model: Business Management Level (BML), Service Management Level (SML), Network Management Level (NML) and Element Management Level (EML), and, FCAPS functionality including, but not limited to: Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, and Security. With the aid of risk management methodologies producing reliability prediction models, the specialist quantifies the network hardware reliability risk, information critical to the development of Service Level Agreements (SLA). The specialist will analyze, if applicable, make recommendations and complete M and P documents, the effectiveness of Network and Field Operations: Processes, Methods and Procedures. Review the end to end supply chain of network systems assuring designed-in reliability (QoS) was carried throughout product service assurance; order, implementation, integration, configuration, operation, and maintainability. Performs job duties consistent within safety, legal and regulatory requirements; company standards, culture and business practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Collaborates with cross-functional organizations and/or vendors to verify specific product solutions are feasible based on known business and technical constraints.· Analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and documenting methods and procedures of new operational product, systems, applications, and/or enhancements to existing product, systems and applications.· Provides analysis, recommendation, consultation and expert advice that have significant impact on the application and its implementation. · Responsible for documenting technical requirements necessary to manage a multi-vendor environment in the delivery of a complete OSS solution.· Provides analysis on configuration and customization adaptation requirements to customize COTS solutions to fit cross-functional organization specific services and business process models.· Collaborates with market-driven implementation of advanced and complex OSS solutions for Next Generation Networks services including, but not limited to, residential broadband triple play services, IPTV etc. · Provides data analysis, trend identification and ability to develop corrective action plans through root cause analysis for areas not meting performance standards i.e. continuous improvement (CI).· Provide compliancy analysis on solutions, new technology and/or system enhancements to ensure that business objectives are satisfied.· Works under general supervision and has functional responsibility for one or more specific areas, projects, or division.· Keeps apprised of developments in field of expertise to ensure currency and makes recommendations to management to improve efficiency/effectiveness.Additional Duties: · Contributes to departmental activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:· Strong understanding of carrier OSS architecture frameworks, standards, specifications and guidelines.· Knowledgeable in carrier class systems for security, scalability, availability, reliability and manageability. · Proficiency in personal computers, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Word.· Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required.· Must posse’s ability to take initiative, plan and handle various tasks simultaneously while working under minimal supervision.· Must have ability to work in high-pressure environment and effectively present information to a variety of individuals.· Must have a proven track record of experience in Operations Support systems, with start-up and departmental development strongly preferred.· Must be flexible and able to work hours outside of normal shift. Education/Experience In order to accomplish the essential duties of this position, the incumbent must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university with minimum five years experience and/or training in a related field; or equivalent of education and experience.
